Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana

Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0 is an initiative of the Government of Uttar Pradesh designed to strengthen the livelihoods of traditional artisans and workers by connecting their existing skills with modern training, better tools, financial support, technology, and market opportunities.

The scheme recognises that traditional craftsmanship is an important source of livelihood while also addressing the need to modernise skills, improve productivity, enhance product quality, and create sustainable self-employment opportunities. Under the expanded 2.0 version, the scheme brings together traditional occupations and emerging technical trades, enabling beneficiaries to adapt to changing market requirements and new technologies.

With the expansion to 25 trades, the scheme provides a broader platform for artisans and workers to develop their capabilities, access improved tools and financial assistance, and connect with wider markets.

The Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana 2.0 covers a total of 25 trades, comprising both traditional and modern occupations. The traditional trades covered under the scheme include Carpenter, Tailor, Potter, Blacksmith, Barber, Mason, Goldsmith, Basket Weaver, Confectioner, Cobbler, Washerman, Sculptor, Florist, Milkman, Bharbhuja, and Madhuaara. In addition to these, the scheme includes modern trades such as Mobile Repair, Automobile Repair, Electronic Goods Repair, Electrical Goods Repair, Plumber, Computer Repair, Solar Installation, Digital Photography, and Software & Hardware. This expanded coverage brings traditional livelihood skills together with modern technical and service-oriented trades under the scheme.

Margin Money Loan Assistance: Loan assistance of up to ₹10.00 lakh with 15% margin money subsidy, without collateral security and interest, for establishment, expansion, technological upgradation, quality improvement and other permissible business activities.

Objective

  • Advanced Toolkit Support: Provide advanced toolkit support of up to ₹15,000 to eligible beneficiaries after completion of training.
  • Digital Support & Facilitation: Provide digital support and facilitation through the scheme's implementation framework.
  • Exposure to New Technology: Provide exposure to new technologies, product development, design and marketing through expert-led sessions.
  • Financial Support for Business: Provide margin-money loan support to help eligible beneficiaries establish, expand, or strengthen their businesses.
  • Free Skill Development Training: Free skill development training of up to 10 days, based on market demand.
  • Improve Quality & Productivity: Assist beneficiaries in improving product quality, productivity and overall business capabilities.
  • Marketing & E-commerce Support: Support beneficiaries in accessing marketing opportunities, digital platforms and e-commerce channels to reach wider markets.
  • Margin Money Loan Assistance: Considering the economic condition, financial constraints, and social and educational status of traditional artisans, eligible trained beneficiaries shall be provided loan assistance up to ₹10.00 lakh for establishment/expansion of units, technological upgradation, quality improvement, packaging and other permissible business activities, along with 15% margin money subsidy, with the loan being provided without collateral security and without interest; the beneficiary shall contribute 10% of the project cost in case of male beneficiaries belonging to the General Category and 5% in case of beneficiaries belonging to other categories, including women, third-gender persons, Divyangjan and ex-servicemen, as their own contribution to be deposited with the bank.

Applicant should not have recieved any sort of Tool kit in last two years.

The applicant must be a legal resident of Uttar Pradesh. The applicant must be at least 18 years old.
