The multiplicity of craftsmen and their art skills have given international recognition to the craftsmanship and artifacts of the state, but the physical capacity of the craftsmen decreases before time relative to other areas. Due to declining health and increasing age, they become physically dysfunctional. As a result, their income and reproductive capacity also decreases. Therefore, financial support from the state government is necessary for the remaining unproductive life. For this purpose, this scheme has been operated for craftsmen. Under the scheme, handicraftsmen selected as Shilpguru of the India Government or received State Handicrafts Award/Efficiency Handicraft Award or National Handicrafts Award are given a pension of Rs. 2000 / - per month, for this there is no restriction of minimum age and maximum age of the craftsperson.
