The scheme was started with the objective of qualitatively improving the
standard of living and economic condition of the handicraftsmen of the state
and encouraging traditional arts. Under the scheme, selected craftsmen are
given a pension of Rs. 500 / - per month. The minimum age of eligible artisans
should be 60 years or more. Age relaxation of 05 years is permissible for women
handicraftsmen and physically handicapped craftsmen.
