Plaster of Paris (POP) manufacturing is the industrial process of producing a quick setting material used in construction, art, and medical applications. It is made by heating natural gypsum to a temperature of around 150°C to 180°C, which removes about 75% of its water content and converts it into calcium sulfate hemihydrate. When mixed with water, POP forms a paste that sets quickly and hardens by reabsorbing water and converting back to gypsum. It is widely used for ceiling designs, moldings, sculptures, orthopedic casts, and false ceilings due to its light weight and smooth finish. Plaster of Paris plants can be semi automatic or fully automatic, depending on scale, and require gypsum supply, furnace systems, grinding units, and packaging setups.
